Hello! I'm Taryn.
I’m a graphic designer and illustrator based near Seattle, WA. I enjoy playing with color and typography to create visually appealing designs. I often illustrate in a cute and whimsical style and I love to explore many different art mediums in my free time.
My passion for graphic design first sparked in high school, where I took a Intro Graphics Design course. The following year, I enrolled in our school's program Media Productions Studio, where we led a student-run business consisting of pre-press designers and screen press and printing press operators. As a pre-press designer, I gained hands-on experience working with clients and designing various designs for print. I grew as a designer and got a glimpse of what I wanted to do for my future.
This led me to major in Digital Design at Seattle University where I explored my style and craft while learning from others. We delved into design principles, developing our breadth and style. In the summer of 2017, I had the valuable opportunity to study abroad in Siena, Italy to learn bookbinding and I fell in love with the craft. To this day I continue to make my own sketchbooks and I’ve even taught others who wanted to learn.
After I graduated, I worked in Japan for 3 years on the JET Program teaching English to elementary school students. I lived in a small rural town in what may seem like the middle of nowhere, but to me it was home. On this journey, I met some amazing people who helped me grow and creative individuals who have inspired me to delve more into my illustration side.
Currently, I am looking for opportunities where I hope to bring my skills to the table while growing creatively and professionally.
